I currently work for a public accounting firm. During busy season, on average fifteen-hour days. I was exposed to the American Board of Forensic Accounting by way of the firm’s Senior Vice President. Ironically, a couple weeks prior to this new development, I asked Senior Management how I could elevate and take my career to new heights. As such, when I learned of the career opportunity I proceeded immediately.
Initially, I was merely interested in the Certified Forensic Bookkeeper credentialing program. However, shortly after completing the enrollment evaluation I received a call from Dr. Scott McHone. He informed me that per my experience I actually qualified for the Registered Forensic Investigator credentialing program. Perhaps, detecting the apprehension in my voice, he instantly assured me that I would be fine. Going a step further, he said, “Mr. Foster, I will be here every step of the way until you’re certified.” In my academic experience, such reassurance was invaluable. Nevertheless, I decided to move forward.
With busy season rapidly approaching and the long hours looming, I asked God for wisdom, understanding, and favor. With God by my side I aspired to complete all sections without any retakes before the start of busy season. Within a month, I am proud and equally humbled to have successfully completed the criteria to become a Registered Forensic Investigator (accomplished with zero retakes).
Regardless of one’s educational expertise or comprehension, Dr. Scott McHone and staff make certification obtainable and realistic. I was extremely pleased with how the entire program was strategically outlined. I would highly recommend the Forensic Accounting Review course for any professionals aspiring to advance their career in forensic accounting.
Shamar G., ACCA, ABGOV, CRFAC
Ever since during my college days, I’ve aspired to become a Forensic Accountant. My early understanding and appreciation of financial statements, their integrity and their importance to capital markets, drove me to what I’ve become today. Fraud is a continuous risk affecting a wide range of organizations and businesses that operate within multiple sectors and industries. Even governments are not exempt from this plaguing issue. Through this, I made the choice to join the fight to combat fraud and encourage transparency and accountability in financial reporting.
However, my achievement of becoming a qualified forensic accountant could only be made possible by God’s guidance through the rigorous and educational programs offer by the American Board of Forensic Accounting. I am grateful that I undertook the FAR review program, which played a critical role of developing my forensic acumen and ensuring that I was well prepared to complete my final exams successful.
I must extend my deepest gratitude to Dr. Scott McHone for his tremendous mentorship throughout my journey towards becoming qualified. I must also extend my appreciation to the wider administrative team at ABFA for assisting me as well through my journey.
It is my upmost pleasure to recommend ABFA to both qualified finance professionals and aspiring forensic professionals alike, to get enrolled today within the various programs ABFA has to offer. The programs are well structured and are strategically tailored to satisfy your learning so the maximum academic development is achieved. So please, all of you aspiring forensic professionals don’t hesitate, make ABFA your choice today.

The Certified Forensic Accountant designation (CRFAC) obtained through the American Board of Forensic Accounting (ABFA) is important to accountants, investigators, fraud examiners and other professionals involved in business, commerce and government in the 21st century. The demands on accountants are as great now as they have ever been due to the extraordinary challenges of complex financial fraud, cybercrime, advanced technology and huge dollar amounts at risk. ABFA’s core course, the Forensic Accounting Review (FAR), prepares participants to pass the certification exams, but more importantly it is a comprehensive and exhaustive resource for developing the skills to meet the various challenges facing professionals in practice, theory, litigation services, cybercrime and valuations.
Professional education is a continuing process and there is no better example of this than the digital age of forensic accounting and investigation required in the current environment that exist at the local, state, federal and international level.
Scott McHone, Executive Director, and the staff of the ABFA were readily available, willing and extremely helpful in assisting me to navigate through the assessment tests and certification exam.
Susan K., CPA, Audit Manager
“The FAR platform was extremely easy to use, the information was concise, relevant and interesting, and Dr. Crumbley was a great moderator. In addition, I received CPE hours which were completed online, at my desk and at my convenience.”
Winnie L., ABGOV, Auditor
The ABFA offered an excellent forensic accounting program. The course enhanced my professional skills in accounting knowledge, auditing practices, and investigative skills. It was truly a great learning experience.
Martin G., ABGOV, RFI, Section Chief
The Forensic Accounting Review course was an excellent course as it strengthened my knowledge in Forensic Accounting. I would highly recommend the FAR course to others with interest in Forensic Accounting.
Domador B., CRFAC, CPA
I am proud to take and complete the ABFA certification.
I enjoyed the whole process. I found it to be challenging and a great opportunity as it enhanced my knowledge in Forensic Accounting.
I have been practicing as a CPA for 25 years. My exposure to ABFA has been excellent. Every module and case situation presented were truly applicable in everyday situations. The knowledge gained empowered me to handle complex problems to understand and tackle them in real life.
The world is changing rapidly with computers pushing into digitization. The ABFA definitely plays a pivotal role in facing the new Forensic Accounting arena.
I recommend ABFA certification to every accountant in private or public to enrich and enlarge their professional skills.
I am grateful to all the staff for their enthusiasm and continued encouragement.
