The American Board of Forensic Accounting™ and its members are dedicated to the development and advancement of the field of forensic accounting. It is the Board’s aspiration to publicly advocate the value of skilled, professional forensic accounting services, as well as create and maintain standards of excellence within the field. To recognize significant professional achievements and contributions to the field of forensic accounting, the Board may bestow the designation of Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Accounting DABFA®.

To become a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Accounting DABFA®, you will need to be certified as either a Certified Forensic Accountant® (CRFAC®), a GFA Government Forensic Accountant (ABGOV®), a Registered Forensic Investigator RFI, or a Certified Forensic Auditor (CRFAU) by the American Board of Forensic Accounting for two consecutive years. Additionally, you will be required to submit to the board a ten (10) page case study or paper that will add to the overall forensic accounting/investigative body of knowledge. The content of your case study or paper will require Board approval. In addition, you will be required to pass an oral board and our due diligence process along with maintaining the continuing education requirements.

Through our testing, analysis, and evaluation of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of applicants, we will be able to provide certification and re-certification of applicants in the field of forensic document examination.
